Thanks to a nice bonus from work, I’m happy to say that I’m just over the $30k mark.

I think I was hoping to be a little further along, but I’m more or less on track.  I’m still eyeing that $40k goal for January 2010.  I think I just need to be a little stricter with the saving and really need to get going on selling all the junk that won’t be coming with me in the move.  I’m not expecting a ton of money to be coming in from that but every little bit helps!

One problem I’m having though is I’ve accumulated $15k in my checking and another $5k in a lousy savings account.  So about $15k I’d want to invest, but CD rates have been TERRIBLE.  Dad keeps on telling me to buy and sell gold but that all seems very odd to me for some reason.  Maybe because I picture that to be more of a long term thing.  But in any case the money is just sitting there and not accumulating anything so I might just suck it up and go with a 6 month CD anyway.  Its bad enough that I let it accumulate that much without doing anything with it.

Even though I feel like I won’t get the chance to use it in France…. I think I’m due for a new camera

As you may know, I’m going to France for a week in the beginning of May for work.  9 of us are staying in a villa and we’re getting 2 rental cars.

The goofy themed rooms aside, isn’t that fuckin’ awesome?  Pool, hot tub, gardens, terrace, and it just being damn huge.

Even getting my own room and bathroom (this year, next year I imagine they’ll ask me to share, which isn’t a big deal anyway)

Before you get too jealous, just keep in mind its 18 hour work days at events, I don’t plan on enjoying it too much….

Although I will say my friends in the office are pretty jealous… But I’m pretty jealous of them too, after Nice they’re flying to London for some training.

“Doesn’t Morristown have an executive airport nearby?”

“Why not instead of getting a condo you get a pilot’s license and small plane?”

“Thats such a terrible idea on so many levels I’m not even going to dignify it with a response.”

“And how much would it cost to get a machine gun?”

“You’d need a machine gun to live in that area.”

“East Orange?  Really?!  Where else in that area is really bad?”

“Everywhere you want to go live.”
